How does it work?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Laser removal or permanent reduction of unwanted hair depends on the scientific principles of selective photothermal decomposition. When the right wavelength of laser is shone on the hair in the treated area, the melanin in the hair absorbs the light and converts it into heat. The build-up of heat leads to the destruction of hair follicles and the associated stem cells and dermal papillae, while the surrounding skin is not damaged. Some hair follicles only become damaged or regrow, so multiple treatments are needed to effectively reduce or eliminate excess hair for lasting results.<\/p>\n

In order to successfully remove excess hair with laser treatment, energy must be carefully applied so that the hair follicles are damaged, but the nearby skin and tissues are not harmed. This can be more or less difficult depending on the individual characteristics of each patient, such as skin color, hair color, and hair thickness. When treating hair with a laser, one can take these characteristics into account by adjusting treatment parameters such as energy, pulse width, and repetition rate.
