Based on theory of “selective laser photothermal”, 980nm diode laser system uses specific 980nm wavelength to penetrate into skin for vascular treatment. The laser irradiation lesion, under laser irradiation, hemoglobin and red pigment capillaries to maximize absorption of laser energy, solidification occurs, blocking blood vessels, capillaries shrink, leading to intravascular coagulation, finally metabolic degradation.Due to the specific 980nm wavelength of the laser, it assures normal intact skin tissue architecture in the greatest degree during the vascular treatment and also ensures a good therapeutic effect without damaging superficial skin.

The 980 nm wavelength is excellent for treating spider veins because it penetrates to an effective depth, is optimally absorbed by blood (hemoglobin) and water, and has minimal melanin absorption. In fact, 980 nm light is absorbed by skin pigment about one-third as much as the 810 nm wavelength, allowing it to target blood vessels while avoiding the skin's melanin.

The 1470 nm diode laser is strongly absorbed by tissue but penetrates only 2–3 mm deep, which means it delivers very concentrated effects and causes virtually no harm to the surrounding healthy tissue.
The 1470 nm laser is highly efficient for surgical cutting because its energy is absorbed by both hemoglobin and water in the tissue, concentrating heat in a very small area. This results in rapid vaporization and breakdown of the target tissue, which is ideal for delicate work on small structures like nerves, blood vessels, or tiny skin lesions. Additionally, because the laser’s energy acts directly on vessel walls, it can seal blood vessels completely and evenly, making procedures more thorough, safe, and minimally invasive.

This laser system is also indicated to increase clear nail growth in patients with onychomycosis (for example, fungal nail infections caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton rubrum or T. mentagrophytes, and yeasts like Candida albicans)
980nm laser is the optimum absorption spectrum of Porphyrin vascular cells. Vascular cells absorb the high-energy laser of 980nm wavelength, solidification occurs and finally dissipated.
